Change-4: Reservation: Earlier there was no reservation for the minorities such as Hindus and Sikhs. But after the scrapping of article 370, minorities will be eligible for 16% reservation. This eventually means quality of jobs will further improve i.e. high quality output from the service industry.
Change-5: Special Powers: Until now, special powers were exercised by J&K. But from now on, no special powers will be given.
Change-6: Right to Information (RTI): RTI will be applicable now onwards. Earlier RTI was not applicable to the people from J&K.
Change-7: Assembly duration: Earlier the duration of legislative assembly was 6 years. But now assembly duration in Union Territory of J&K will be for 5 years. i.e. Elections will be held every 5 years.
Change-8: Women’s Rights: If a woman from J&K marries out of state, she would lose the citizenship of the state. But now onwards, if a woman marries out of state or country, she will retain all her rights and Indian citizenship.
Change-9: Panchayat Rights: Earlier Panchayats did not have any rights in the state of J&K. But now, similar to other states, Panchayats will have the same rights.
